Govt extends foreign trade policy till March next year
The government has notified the extension of the Foreign Trade Policy 2015-20 by six months to March 31, 2022. Following the outbreak of Covid-19, the policy was first extended by a year to the end of March 2020 and then to September 30.
The existing FTP 2015-2020, which is valid up to September 30, 2021, is extended up to March 31, 2022, amid the coronavirus outbreak and the lockdown.
The policy provides guidelines for enhancing exports to push economic growth and create jobs and incentives under different schemes such as Duty Free Import Authorisation (DFIA) and Export Promotion Capital Goods (EPCG).
